The Green/Emerald Anaconda
This magnificent species, only found in the Amazon and certain parts of Trinidad, is the second-longest snake species in the world and the heaviest of all. This species is the natural enemy of the Jaguar, and both together make up the main protagonists of multiple stories and myths of indigenous folklore; They are allies, as mortal enemies, as brothers of the same benevolent god with two different mothers, and as manifestations of the eternal war between good and evil.
These snakes are highly photographed hanging coiled from the trees, blending in with their greenery. They are not aggressive species, but when they feel in danger, they slide from them, falling on their prey and suffocating them by entangling themselves around them, pressing on their thorax.
